Burholme Emergency Medical Services, Inc. is the oldest non-profit and longest
operating Ambulance Company in Philadelphia. Providing first aid and
emergency transportation from Burholme Park in 1933, Burholme Emergency Medical Services, Inc. served the then farmlands of Northeast Philadelphia.
Professionally managed and operated, Burholme still offers emergency
service only to those communities in our immediate geographic area. In
1994 Burholme initiated its advanced life support program (ALS) and the
following year added 12-lead electrocardiographic technology.
Today we have grown into a fleet of 4 ALS
vehicles, 1 ALS responder unit and one Invalid Coach Van (SSV). Our
service area includes over 100,000 households in the fourth largest EMS
system in the country. We service our communities from our Headquarters
situated in the Burholme section of Northeast Philadelphia. In
addition we also maintain a longstanding partnership in service to the
community with our neighbor Northeast Community Ambulance as this brings a
combined expertise of over 130 years of continuous service. In addition we
have continued to provide mutual aid services to EMS Services in Eastern
Montgomery County in the communities of Cheltenham Twp., Abington Twp.
Rockledge and Jenkintown.
